Legally, you can install a fence in your area as long as it meets the ‘permitted development’ rules. Under these rules, you will automatically be allowed to build a fence or make some other changes. However, under these rules, your fence height should be not more than up to 2 metres, if it is more than that you will require a permit from the local council.
